  I have experience working in

the field of play therapy with children who have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, family breakdown, bereavement, anxiety, low self-esteem and attachment difficulties. I have also worked to support Children Looked After, those in Kinship care and those struggling with emotional dysregulation and neurodivergence. I work with purpose, passion and playfulness. My route to becoming a play therapist came from my comprehensive career working alongside children and families in Primary and Nursery Schools. I have worked as a class teacher, a deputy head teacher and as a Special Educational Needs co-ordinator (SENDCo). I communicate effectively and regularly with parents/carers and other involved professionals. I am culturally competent and embrace understanding, communicating, and interacting with people across cultures. I work in private practice, in various settings and also from my office in Purley CR8.

  Theoretical Approach

I use a child-centred play therapy approach. My work is informed by the principles of humanistic, non-directive theory; with some directive work if deemed appropriate.

  I have experience working in

I work with children who have social and emotional difficulties, witnessed domestic violence, experience anxiety, bereavement and loss, attachment difficulties and trauma. Having taught in schools for over 10 years, I have a good understanding of some of the social and emotional difficulties children face every day. I have seen how trauma can impact a child’s ability to learn and function effectively in everyday life. This encouraged me to retrain as a Play Therapist. I use this knowledge to enhance my work in the playroom. I work creatively, putting the child at the heart of the therapy, giving them time and space to make sense of their world whilst providing a safe, nurturing environment. I work holistically, building excellent therapeutic relationships with children, their families, and other professionals around the child.

  Theoretical Approach

I use a largely non-directive, child-centred approach, but integrate more directive approaches if appropriate.

I am passionate about facilitating growth for the child, whatever issues they bring into the playroom. I am experienced in working with preverbal and developmental trauma. This includes neglect, abuse, loss and separation. I am also experienced in working with neurodivergent children and gender expansiveness. I am a client-centred Play Therapist. However, depending on my client's needs, I sometimes use a more directive type of play therapy. I also observe cultural differences and incorporate the child’s systems (school, family, agencies) into my work.

  • Traumatic experiences • Hospitalisation • Loss • Separation • Anxieties • Bullying • Selective Mutism • Self-Identity • Anger • Aggression • Emotional dysregulation • Difficulties to concentrate • Hyperactivity, ADHD I am a BACP registered and BAPT accredited Play Therapist. I live in London and work with families in various London boroughs. I have 4 years of experience as a Play Therapist in schools and a private clinic. I am passionate about making a positive change in the lives of children and their families. Particularly those who experience significant life events that impact on their wellbeing, learning and behaviour. I provide safe and confidential space for the children to access their inner resources such as memories, thoughts and feelings suppressed in the subconscious and provide safe space for them to be able to restore these and bring them into the ‘conscious’ through play. I follow the child’s lead and communicate that I am able to carry those ‘heavy thoughts’ with them. I accept the children as they are and therefore help them develop appreciation for their play as well as themselves. I am particularly interested in sensory and messy play. As a therapist, being able to contain the mess the child makes, I communicate that I am able to contain the chaos from within and therefore contain their confused emotional experiences.

  Theoretical Approach

I mainly use Child-Centred Non-Directive Play Therapy approach; however, I can combine elements of CBT, narrative, or art therapy depending on the child’s needs. I am also qualified for Filial Therapy. My practice is mainly informed by developmental, attachment and cognitive theories.

My work is predominantly supporting children with early/complex traumas and children with special needs. I have worked with children from various cultural backgrounds and religions. I believe in the therapeutic power of play and that play is a fundamental way for children to express themselves, make sense of their experiences, communicate their needs, and process different feelings. I have developed effective play therapy skills, and each intervention is tailored to the individual needs of each child and family. I have experience working in

I specialise in using therapeutic play and creative arts to promote children's mental well-being and help them explore difficult experiences. Through play therapy, children can express themselves in a safe and accepting environment, work towards understanding their emotions, and make sense of their life experiences. I have 25 years of experience working with children and families in different roles. I utilise a variety of materials such as toys, art supplies, sensory toys, sand, and water beads to aid in the children's process. Materials used are informed by neuroscience to aid emotional regulation and repair negative experiences. I work with children who have been exposed to trauma, child abuse, domestic violence, parental separation and loss. I also have experience in working with care-experienced and adopted children. I am experienced with neurodiverse children (ASD, ADHD, SPD). I am registered with Adopt London South as an ASF provider. I understand how challenging parenting can be, especially when you are concerned about your child's mental health, anxiety, self-esteem or experiences. Alongside therapy sessions, I offer support to carers. Outcomes for children include aiding in recovery from difficult life experiences, improved mental well-being, and increased receptiveness to learning. I offer sessions in a private, child-friendly and confidential setting at my private practice in Raynes Park (SW20), but it is possible to deliver sessions in a different setting. Flexible hours are available. I offer weekly 1:1 sessions in a child-friendly and confidential setting. I have updated availability after school and Saturday mornings

  Theoretical Approach

I provide child-centered play therapy services, which offer a creative environment for children to explore their emotions and experiences. Children use play as a language to communicate and express themselves. Through the use of toys and creative arts, children explore challenging experiences freely. Children can make sense of their world and work towards mastery of their emotions and experiences.

I qualified in 2017 from the University of Roehampton and since that time I have been delivering services to children, young people and families with complex needs. I am trauma-informed and have experience of working with children and families from diverse and complex backgrounds: disrupted development, attachment disruptions, domestic and sexual violence, disability, trauma, parental separation, neglect, low self-esteem, anxiety, ASD, adopted and looked after children. In my role I offer, 1:1 Play Therapy Sessions, 1:1 Tele-Play Therapy Sessions and Parent Support Sessions. I use an integrative approach, using both directive and non-directive Play Therapy approaches. I believe that when children are given the opportunity to express themselves freely they often find solutions and resolve difficult life experiences themselves, using play materials, creative activities and their therapist as tools in this discovery. I also believe that therapeutic work does not exist in isolation and that work with parents/carers is vital to successful therapeutic outcomes. For this reason, I completed my Filial Therapy training in 2017. I offer training to schools and parenting groups on the importance of playful parenting.

  I have experience working in

I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent children, as well as children with other disabilities and SEN, regardless of if they have a diagnosis. I worked for 5 years in SEND schools for children with ‘severe to profound’ learning disabilities as an educator, and often work with children with autism and ADHD in my current full-time role. I use a child-centred approach, where I allow the child to lead. I will adapt my approach to the child's needs, always keeping them at the centre of my work. Please note that due to a conflict of interest, I am currently unable to see children attending schools in the boroughs of Richmond and Kingston that are covered by a Mental Health Support Team (MHST). If you are unsure if this includes your child’s school, please feel free to contact me and I can check this for you.

  Theoretical Approach

I work in a child-centred way, in line with Rogerian person-centred theory. I also draw from Jungian psychoanalysis, as well as drawing on theories of child development.

I have experience providing play therapy to children experiencing a range of challenges, including parental separation, anxiety, low self-esteem and bereavement. I have worked across a variety of settings, including schools and a specialist bereavement charity. I have particular experience working with non-speaking children, children on the autism spectrum, and children with developmental delay. With over 20 years of teaching experience and extensive training in child development, I bring a rich, rounded understanding of children and how they make sense of their world. I work intuitively and holistically — offering a safe, nurturing, and creative space where children can play freely, process their experiences, and build the resilience to thrive.

  Theoretical Approach

My approach is humanistic and child centred. I draw on psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and neuroscience models to inform my practice, integrating more directive activities where appropriate to individual children.

  Theoretical Approach

I mainly practice non-direct Child Centered Play Therapy and can incorporate different theoretical approaches where I feel it beneficial to the child. I initially meet with the family to gain information and assess the child’s needs and work out a plan of support. I can plan short term or long term work with regular reviews depending on the nature of the referral. My sessions are tailored to suit the child’s needs and abilities. I have a large selection of play items and a confidential, accessible safe space to play in. Building a warm and accepting therapeutic relationship with the child is at the heart of my practice. As well as individual sessions I also have experience of facilitating small therapy groups with children of similar age and life experiences.
