Kaleidoscope’s mission is to empower children through the arts. In addition to the lessons, camps and workshops we offer we have a substantial number of children that require additional support. We have had the benefit of offering play therapy to these children and would like to continue to be able to offer this valuable resource to all in need.
The successful candidate will have an MA in Practice based Play Therapy, and at least three years’ experience in a similar role. Must be registered with a recognized Play Therapy Association and have at least one year post qualifying experience.
They will work collaboratively with children, parents and colleagues to implement and evaluate play therapy programs designed to best empower children in a nurturing, safe and creative environment.
They will maintain daily logs, provide clinical assessments, and facilitate meetings and workshops as needed. It is important that they have a good system to keep records and provide necessary paperwork. They will be working independently and will not be coming into a therapy team, though Kaleidoscope would like to grow this side of our offerings.
They will be a passionate, creative teacher/therapist who will keep current with developments in Play Therapy research and practice.
Must also get SCARS certified once employed and be CPR/First aid trained and keep both current.
Must be able to drive as much of the work takes plays within schools across the island.
An additional Art based Degree would be beneficial.
This is a full time position including weekends and school holidays.
Average salary range would be $60,000 – 80,000 gross.
