We have new exciting opportunities for members looking to be involved in BAPT!

Are you interested in promoting high standards of clinical excellence for Play Therapists, Supervisors, and Students?

Could you help develop BAPT’s Ethical and Core Competencies in the current changing world system?

 If so, we would love to hear from you.

Perhaps you have a passion for gender rights, equality and recognition? Or feel strongly about developing robust anti racist practice guidelines or sexual misconduct advice?

Maybe you have exciting thoughts on how to support neurodivergent play therapists in an inclusive environment? Or have a strong interest in ensuring effective mechanisms for regulation and being an accredited register organisation.

These are just a few of the areas BAPT will be working on to improve our support to members and develop BAPT as a relevant and aware Charity for the future.

 If you have a special interest in any of these topics – or supporting our members with relevant advice on how to practice efficiently - we need you in our Professional Practice Team. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to develop BAPT as a truly member led organisation then please get in touch for a chat.  Please contact info@bapt.uk.com

Professional Practice Sub-Committee

Remit:

For BAPT Professional Practice refers to the actions, standards, and contextual awareness of all our members. The Professional Practice Sub-Committee works to ensure that BAPT continues to drive clear, high standards of clinical excellence by;

-          Developing and implementing policies and guidance for members on effective and ethical Play Therapy practice in this rapidly changing world.

-          Regularly reviewing BAPT’s Core Foundation Policies ensuring they remain fit for purpose and relevant to our member’s needs.

-          Continually improving BAPT’s professional standards by supporting its role as an Accredited Register with the Professional Services Authority – the UK’s independent regulatory oversight body improving the quality of regulation and registration of people working in health and social care.

-          Supporting the dissemination of relevant good practice and research to BAPT members.

BAPT recognise that this Sub-Committee is wide reaching with distinct and independent areas. As such BAPT will also be looking for ‘leads’ for the individual stands from within the Sub-Committee itself, as well as an overall Chairperson. The Chair will not be expected to be an ‘expert’ in all of these areas, and their role will be to develop the team overall, bring together the various areas and act as s spokesperson representing the Sub-Committee. The Chair of the Sub-Committee will be required to join the BAPT Board of Directors, unless agreed otherwise.
