I have experience working in
I have 20 years experience of working with children. Much of this time has been working with Children in Care & Children In Need of Support and their families. Families who have experienced relational difficulties, where fractures have occurred, and repair work is needed. I have been involved in assessing children’s emotional needs and considering their attachment towards their care providers as a Child Assessor for Court in my clinical capacity. I have worked in a range of settings, including GP surgeries, Schools, Children's Centre’s and at Refuges. I currently work in a CAMHS setting, providing consultations to Early Help Teams. I offer a therapeutic space for younger children, teenagers and their families/carers. I believe the best results happen when there is relational depth, both with the parent and child. This is how change comes about. Along with Roger’s Core Conditions – Acceptance (valuing people for who they are and what they bring), Empathy (understanding thoughts and feelings as they are experienced by the client), Congruence (being genuine), and providing Unconditional Positive Regard – an acceptance and support of a person. Working alongside them so they feel held and emotionally safe.
